Shirts & Jackets
There are a number of different types of tops that
can be worn with a Kilt. If you're Piping with a band, you'll
pretty much have to go with the band uniform. But, if you're
a Lone Piper, you have your choice.
The chemise or, "peasant shirt" is traditional attire.
And, it is easily made from a coupleyards of muslin and a couple
feet of elastic.
 A
nice addition to the chemise is a vest. As with most Highland
attire though, a vest can be a bit pricey. Western style vests
are usually cheaper. And, you can often find one in a thrift
store.
Sometimes, you just don't have a choice though. Some occasions
call for more than a peasant shirt... Like a jacket. I found
this jacket in my local thrift store for $1.00
