When Andrew emailed our group this morning, and said the snow was falling, I couldn't wait to come see him and share the beauty together. He told me that there was no way he was going to let me attempt to drive in the conditions I was sure to find up in the Lone Pine area. And he was right. My little Honda would never have made the trip. Instead, Andrew came down to get me with his Toyota truck...

Coming into Lone Pine... Note that the normal speed limit in this area is 65.

Farther down the road, and us pulled over to the side...

I'm enjoying the scenery, and marveling at how pretty the dry lake is, when it isn't so dry...

And suddenly I hear behind me, the magnificent sound of my Piper lad guiding the tourists on their way ...

And the cars keep on coming...

And on he plays as his hat is blown off in the wind...

And so we must continue on home. A few miles further, we come to Boulder Creek...

And then to Diaz lake. Take a note of the wind on the water here, and you can imagine the wind chill factor...

And on my Piper plays. This time though, note he is playing his Blackwood Pipes...

The weather is becoming ominous again, so it is time to continue on home...

Well, as much fun as it was, and we wanted to go back for more with our friends, emergency called us up to Bishop for a rescue.
